Lauren Ruhl, LPC, CSCS

Director, Injury Recovery Program | Sport Psychology Clinician

Lauren Ruhl, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Sport Psychology Clinician who specializes in helping athletes navigate the mental and emotional challenges of sport, injury, and performance.

Her passion for this work was born from personal experience. After suffering a season-ending knee injury while playing college basketball, Lauren experienced firsthand the frustration, uncertainty, identity shifts, and emotional hurdles that accompany injury recovery. Those experiences not only shaped her as an athlete—they ultimately inspired her career helping athletes overcome the psychological challenges that accompany injury and competition.

As Director of Injury Recovery at Greenepsych, Lauren leads Greenepsych’s Injury Recovery Program—a specialized service designed to help athletes navigate the psychological aspects of injury, rehabilitation, and return to sport. She works with athletes of all ages and competitive levels—from youth athletes to collegiate and adult competitors—helping them rebuild confidence, manage anxiety, overcome fear of reinjury, navigate setbacks, and return to competition with greater trust in themselves and their bodies.

Having undergone three ACL reconstructions and navigated her own recovery journey, Lauren understands that rehabilitation is far more than a physical process. She partners closely with athletes throughout rehabilitation and the return-to-sport process, helping them manage uncertainty, cope with setbacks, rebuild identity, and regain confidence every step of the way.

In addition to her work with injured athletes, Lauren provides individual counseling, mental performance coaching, team workshops, and educational presentations for athletes, parents, coaches, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and sports medicine professionals. Her approach blends evidence-based counseling techniques with practical sport psychology strategies to help clients strengthen resilience, perform under pressure, and thrive both in sport and in life.
