Sports Parenting

It’s undeniable that sports parenting (not unlike non-sports parenting) is hard. You rise and fall with your athlete child. You celebrate their (your) accomplishments and try to hold steady when things don’t work out as planned.

The problem isn’t that it’s hard. The problem is we don’t talk about how hard it really is, and the impact it can have on us, as parents, when we get stuck in our chattery minds. It impacts our relationship with our child, with our partner, and most importantly, with ourselves. We cast blame, feel guilt and shame, and we try our best to muddle through it with as much of a perspective of gratitude as we possibly can.

At Greenepsych, we are offering more services for sports parents. Reach out if you are feeling like you want to connect to others who feel like you do or want to work privately on just yourself for now. Fill out the contact form and let’s get started.
