After nearly 20 years of working with athletes across a wide variety of sports and competitive levels, I’ve seen many of the same challenges arise again and again:
- Overthinking
- Fear of mistakes
- Pressure and expectations
- Confidence struggles
I’ve also seen that the skills athletes need to navigate these challenges can be learned.
That’s why I’m exploring a new virtual mental performance program for athletes.
My hope is to help more athletes develop these skills while also benefiting from the support and shared experiences of other competitors facing similar challenges.
My mission at Greenepsych has always been simple:
Teaching good athletes to become great competitors.
That philosophy ultimately led me to write Courage Over Confidence and challenge one of the most common assumptions in sports:
You don’t have to feel good to perform well.
Courage Over Confidence is about learning how to take action, trust your preparation, and compete effectively—even when confidence, comfort, certainty, or motivation aren’t where you’d like them to be.
I’m currently gathering feedback from athletes, parents, and coaches as I shape the program.
If you work with athletes—or are an athlete yourself—I would greatly appreciate your input.
